Who we are
We are a Christian student organization at UTSA focused on walking with God together and advancing His purposes on our campus. Every Thursday night we meet to worship God, connect with each other, and listen to what God’s Word says about our lives. Throughout the week small groups meet to hang out, discuss, ask questions, and walk with God together. If you are a college student looking to get more deeply connected with other students in Chi Alpha, then small groups are for you!
We are part of a national movement of college students loving God and changing the world. You can view our national website here.
What We Do
In addition to small groups, we all come together every Thursday night at UTSA. Currently we are meeting in the Retama Auditorium, which is the room above the Student Union bookstore.
Join us for worship, friendship, and the teaching of God’s Word. We meet at 6:30pm and 8:30pm each week.
Small groups are the backbone of what we do. Chi Alpha small groups meet weekly on various days in homes, coffee shops, on campus, etc. They are a great way to get plugged in, make friends, find fellowship, and to learn more about Jesus. Anyone is welcome, we are an interdenominational Christian fellowship, you don’t have to be a part of one particular church. Whether you are Christian, thinking about becoming a Christian, or not thinking about becoming a Christian, small group is for you!
Transforming the University, the Marketplace & the World
We believe that campus ministry is one of the most strategic mission fields in the world. The university is a battlefield of ideas and attitudes. If we can reach students now and paint an accurate, beautiful picture of Jesus then we can reach the world! Only 1% of the world goes to college, but that small percentage goes on to be the CEOs, doctors, law-makers, senators, judges, teachers, coaches; the people who go on to lead our world. Likewise, international students come from all over the world and return to their countries, people of influence, most of them never even entering an American home! We want the Lord to help us create an environment for students that can be a home away from home, where they know that they matter. An environment of fellowship, discipleship, prayer, worship, and mission. A place where everyone belongs.
